  • Hey there! :-) I'm new to this site and just trying to navigate my way around to network and speak with other like-minded people about the school system that I'm currently developing: Alinkage Public School, A Holistic Approach to Learnig. We are creating a website to further ongoing disucssions about this new approach to learning, but you can also get a better view of where I'm coming from by visiting www.facebook.com/apsglobal or www.twitter.com/alinkageschool

Hope to hear back from you :-)

  • Hi Judyth, I don't see any discussions on reader's or writer's workshop. You are welcome to start your own discussion in this group or create a separate discussion group of your own on the topic. I'll be sure to join in! Welcome to the site!

  • I'd like to know if there are any discussion groups for elementary teachers who are doing reader's workshops and writers workshops. We are going to use these programs this year. Our language arts program is through Scholastic. Thanks for any leads.

I know there is already a general group for teachers, but I would like to have a separate group just for elementary teachers.

There are no announcements yet.
Hi Pete - Yes...it's Britannica SmartMath. I am still getting to know my way around it, but so far it looks fantastic. We are not using Google+ in school yet. I would love to hear more about how you are using it in school. Actually, I think a lot of people on this site would like to hear. I believe there is a separate discussion in the Instructional Technology Group about Google+ use in school. I will let you know how things go with SmartMath. If you have any questions I am happy to do my best to answer them.

I teach 2nd grade and have 25 in my class this year. A jump from 19 last year. I'm trying to get Google+ video chat (new version of pen pals) with our students and have set it up with another teacher in our building but we didn't get any sound. Anyone out there looking for video chat buddies? We share authors chair, math story problems, character traits, and much more. I'm open to different topics.
